CASE 3 – RECOVERY FROM SEVERE HEPATITIS A

A 24-year-old university student was brought to the clinic in a very serious condition. A few days earlier, he had been diagnosed with Hepatitis A and had already undergone treatment in one of the leading hospitals in Pakistan. Despite receiving conventional medical care, his condition continued to worsen.
Laboratory investigations showed that his bilirubin levels were extremely high, indicating severe involvement of the liver. Clinically, the patient presented with deep yellow discoloration of the skin and eyes, a classic sign of advanced jaundice. In addition to this, he was suffering from persistent and excessive vomiting, which made it difficult for him to retain food or even water. His appetite had almost disappeared, and he was experiencing extreme weakness and fatigue.
Due to the constant vomiting and the deterioration of his general condition, the patient became dehydrated and physically exhausted. His family reported that he could barely stand or move without support. The combination of high bilirubin levels, liver distress, and continuous vomiting made the situation very concerning.
After being discharged from the hospital, the patient was brought to our clinic for homeopathic management.
Following a detailed assessment of his symptoms and general condition, the following homeopathic medicines were prescribed:
• Natrium Sulphuricum 6X
• Natrium Phosphoricum 6X
• Chelidonium Q
The medicines were administered three times daily for a period of fifteen days.
In addition to the medicinal treatment, the patient was strictly advised to follow supportive measures, including:
• Complete bed rest to allow the liver to recover
• Avoidance of oily, fatty, and heavy foods
• Consumption of light and easily digestible meals
During the course of treatment, gradual improvement began to appear. The frequency of vomiting decreased first, allowing the patient to retain fluids and light food. As the digestive system stabilized, the patient's energy level slowly improved.
Over the following days, the yellow discoloration of the skin and eyes gradually reduced, indicating improvement in liver function. The patient’s appetite returned, and his overall physical strength began to recover.
By the end of the fifteen-day treatment period, the patient showed clear clinical recovery. His symptoms had resolved, and follow-up medical evaluation confirmed that his liver function had returned to normal limits.
The patient ultimately recovered completely without any complications and was able to resume his normal daily activities.
This case demonstrates how homeopathic treatment, combined with proper rest and dietary management, may support recovery in severe liver conditions such as Hepatitis A by helping the body restore its natural physiological balance.
